    Which cards do you have? You could use newcamd protocol, it works great with oscam to oscam connection. I will post some info soon if you are interested.

    Here it is tutorial if you want to transfer your card on one oscam server to the other oscam server (vps).

    First you need to add port and caid for newcamd in your server where you have your local card (S1). Go to Configuration/Newcamd section in WebIF and add this line:
    PORT@CAID:XXXXXX

    Choose whatever you want for port (needs to be diferent than other ports you use in oscam). For caid you need to choose caid that matches your local card. Lets say for SkyIT you need to use caid 09CD. Instead of Xs, you need to put 000000 or in some cases you need to use different numbers (thats usually the save with Viaccess cards).

    Go to key section and add this:
    0102030405060708091011121314

    Now go to Users section and add new user (Newcamd). Setup is easy. You need to choose a password, correct group (needs to be the same as your reader where you have local card) and thats basically it. Save this new user/account and you are ready to go to next step.

    Open WebIF of oscam on your VPS (S2). Add new reader (newcamd) and use info (username, password and key) that you already used for user in S1. Set group according to your VPS oscam setup. If you have any more questions i am available for help.

    Server (to which card is physically connected)
    [account]

    Thx all,

    I managed to get them connected via newcamd protocol... but I realised I cant view the tiers... I read up online and find out the 256 trick that will trick it as local card so that I can view the entiltement.

    I tried but I getting error.
    Any help on getting the oscam (cccam) to work? If there is other way to view the tiers on the vpn, I am okay too...

    I owned the card, I just wanna view the tiers on the vpn...

    There is no way to check entitlements via newcamd reader. No way.

    Hello Oldskul,

    I am trying to set up my own OSCam VPs server, I have read this very interesting topic.

    I would like to understand something though which is not quite clear yet:

    If I transfer my local card to the VPS through newcamd reader and then (of course) all the other reader and user accounts I have on my Dreambox over there, do I have to add an extra reader for myself at home and an extra user for myself so that I can watch all channels as usual?

    Thanks!

    Alex

    Yep, you need to create one additional account on VPS, so you can connect to it using your Dreambox!

    one of the reson i don t use camd protocol
    the second is if use camd you allows many people share hop4 or hop5 "local cards"

    I am trying to follow the tutorial, but I am having problems.

    When I create the user in my original Dreambox, there is no option to specify that the user is a newcamd user.

    I compile my own binaries with Simplebuild, and I definitely have newcamd protocol enabled.

    Even if I enter in the user allowed protocols only newcamd, it still doesn't seem to be working! :(

    The dedicated port on the router for newcamd is open, if I telnet to it from the VPS server it responds correctly.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

    you dont need to specify protocol for local user

    oscam.conf

    [dvbapi]
    enabled = 1
    user = dvbapi
    boxtype = dreambox

    oscam.user

    [account]
    user = localuser

    it s enough

    Thanks OldSkul and xyrius for your kindness.

    Here are my configurations.... let me start with my

    LOCAL DREAMBOX:

    VPS SERVER CONFIGURATIONS:

    So, this is the situation now:

    1) VPS cannot connect to Dreambox at all, the status shows the reader as "Unknown"

    2) The Dreambox CAN connect to the VPS, but it says 0 of 0 CARD (even if the other readers are active and connected on the VPS).

    Thank you so very much for your help and for the patience!

    Thanks, I have a reader of course for my local card! I only pasted the relevant bits for each file, leaving out all other bits of configuration :)

    You're a star my friend xyrius!!! Everything works perfectly now!!! :p:p:p

    I offer you a virtual pint of beer!!!

    I guess the errors were the missing newcamd settings in the global conf of VPS server and the missing ident in its reader.

    Thank you so much for your patience, both of you guys!!!
